Free Breast Cancer screening for the general public

Free breast screening - Accra Newtown Islamic Hospital

The Accra Newtown Islamic Hospital is organizing a free breast cancer screening for the general public. This initiative aims to promote early detection and prevention of breast cancer, a condition that affects thousands of women annually in Ghana.

The screening will include breast examination conducted by qualified medical professionals, as well as educational sessions on self-examination and awareness about symptoms of breast cancer. Participants will also have the opportunity to consult with healthcare professionals on maintaining breast health.

Dr. Omaima Mohammed Arab, the lead medical officer for the event, emphasized the importance of regular screenings: "Early detection saves lives. This program is part of our commitment to ensuring everyone has access to the knowledge needed to fight breast cancer effectively."

The hospital invites women of all ages to take advantage of this free service, especially those who have never undergone a breast examination. Men are also encouraged to participate, as they play a vital role in supporting women’s health awareness.

The event will take place at the hospital premises. By making breast cancer screenings accessible, the hospital continues its mission to improve community health and save lives through preventive care.
