
The Accra Newtown Islamic Hospital (ANIH) celebrated World Menstrual Hygiene Day 2023 with a meaningful outreach program aimed at promoting menstrual health awareness and breaking societal stigmas surrounding menstruation.
The hospital organized educational sessions with students from various schools in Accra newtown and Fadama, offering practical guidance on menstrual hygiene management and addressing cultural taboos that often hinder open discussions about this natural process.
As part of the event, four pupil's school were provided with free sanitary products and education on maintaining proper menstrual health.
Our nurses and midwives led the interactive workshops that emphasized the importance of clean menstrual hygiene.
Ms. Ramatu Issah, the General Manager highlighted the hospital's commitment to providing education on menstrual hygiene. "We empower young girls to confidently manage their menstrual health without fear or shame."
